Although it worked out fairly well in the end, I would like to see us organize our signage, especially the portable stuff.
Ideally, portable signage should collapse into a travel tube, stands should be easy to carry, it should have a way to be rigid - especially in the wind and be a format that doesn't cost us much to buy or modify.
I brought a bamboo frame X-Banner frame that I had and blank sign to Maker Faire. Heather Otis was able to print our display sign on regular paper and we double sided taped it onto the blank. It looked very professional. It could have been used free standing or hanging. http://www.uscutter.com/Banner-Stands The format is 2'x5' - I think that works well for everything but our backdrop sign.
We should replace our big COG sign (I donated a big blank vinyl banner to use as a backing) and have a table skirt sign as our regulars. By using a few frames and swapping the signs, we can be ready for any event without a lot of trouble.
