Back when I thought I would have more time to help more with this, I started an outline to brainstorm some minor changes to the site (accessible at the link below). Hopefully it can still be useful. I like outlines.
I agree with Kathy in that my original impression was that this meeting would be more of a "just-do-it" event, where we can knock out some of the minor improvement ideas that have been kicking around for a while, assuming we can agree on them. Perhaps that can be the first hour, and the second hour we can start to discuss some longer range thinking, and if someone is willing to take on that project they can figure out where to go from there.
From my Treasurer point-of-view and the comments I've received from new/prospective members over the past few months, here are the changes I've been thinking about:
- Reduce the number of clicks between the homepage and the membership signup page from 3 clicks to 2.
- Remove the Paypal Membership Renewal form (it no longer serves a purpose, now that I send out Paypal invoices. The only people who use it are people trying to sign up for a new membership, which results in me refunding their payment and directing them to the actual sign-up link)
- Expand and correct the information about each membership level and the membership add-ons (text is in the outline). I think it would be better in one place than on a separate PDF.
- Have clear, obvious links for PURCHASE MEMBERSHIP, UPDATE PAYMENT INFORMATION, BUY DAY PASSES, and MEMBERSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS (in the wiki, the PDF membership packet is out of date and should be removed)
If necessary, I can bring tea, incense and serene music to help keep us calm and focused.
